Privet and welcome! This is a blog about food, which happens to be our favorite conversation subject and a major expense. I love to cook it, eat it, discuss it, and now write about it. In fact, I love it more than shoes, which is really saying something.

I am a transplant from Kazakhstan, who does not like hosting potlucks, because I can’t control the menu “… and my god, what if it all doesn’t go together!”. Currently cooking in a tiny walk-through kitchen where everything is within arm’s reach, I nearly cried when I thought I lost my knives in DC metro. This blog grows on a fertile ground of an unfufilled promise to write a friend a cookbook and many many discussions about food. Thank you for stopping by and I hope you enjoy it.
